Advent Calendar of Non-Overplayed Christmas Songs No. IV

"People all over the world forgot about merry." Thank you Mr Olaf Mary for alerting us to the existence of this amazing Staples Singers Christmas Song, "Who Took the Merry Out of Christmas," next on our Advent Calendar of Non-Overplayed Xmas Songs. Excellent subtle & groovy use of the jingle bells, I add.

If you're still blissed out from the last song, don't listen to this next version. But I couldn't help noticing that Donny Osmand covers it...

I think it might be "people all over the world forgot about Mary", not "merry"........

Well. It is merry, right? But also: Mary. Which is what I love about this song. It is both Mary and Merry. What a successful and moving pun. It is about Mary. The Best and most True part of Christianity.
